PGS(preimplantation genetic screening)

Preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) is a test that can determine the chromosomal status of an embryo by screening all 23 chromosome pairs and can increase the implantation rate of artificial insemination by about twofold. The embryos are cultured for about 5 days after fertilization, and 5 to 10 cells are removed from the split spheres for genetic testing. IVF failure is often due to embryos with an abnormal number of chromosomes. A few aneuploidies can occur in any embryo, but the likelihood increases with maternal age.
