About Infertility Genes

不妊遺伝子について

Genetic testing is useful when fertility testing fails to produce a fertilized egg. Since there may be problems on both the male and female sides, it is necessary to examine each side. The female side is tested for 55 different genes, and the male side is tested for 40 different genes.

We also identify 22 genetic mutations from 17 genes that cause hemophilia and neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia.

What is the link between infertility and genes?

In women, X chromosome abnormalities, primary ovarian dysfunction, multiple ovarian cysts, hypergonadotropia, hypogonadotropia, and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome are involved.

In males, sex chromosome abnormalities, microdeletions of the Y chromosome, hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, and Kallmann syndrome are involved.

Hemophilia and microthrombosis are also known to be involved.

Can it improve infertility?

Hormonal abnormalities can be treated if the cause can be identified, such as hormone replacement therapy. If the patient is prone to blood clots, antithrombotic drugs can be used to facilitate pregnancy. Genetic testing to identify the cause can be helpful.
